Biography

In 1975, he graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Precision Mechanics and Optics , the Higher Courses of the KGB in Minsk, and the North Caucasus Technical University.

Since 1975, in the KGB of the USSR, he went from a security officer to the head of the department for combating terrorism and extremism. He was the head of the department of the Leningrad city department of counterintelligence,

  • 1993-1995 - Deputy Head, Head of the Office of the Federal Grid Company (FSB) in the Sverdlovsk Region,
  • 1995-1999 - Head of the FSB Directorate for the Stavropol Territory,
  • 1999-2000 - Head of Operations Management,
  • 2000 - First Deputy Head of the Department for the Protection of the Constitutional System and the Fight against Terrorism, Head of the Directorate for Combating Terrorism and Political Extremism of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation; repeatedly performed official duties and took part in special operations to free hostages in Chechnya,
  • 2000-2006 - Head of the Anti-Terrorism Center of the CIS member states.

Awards and titles

He was awarded the Order " For Merit to the Fatherland " IV degree and "For Military Merit".
