Sports career

He spent his childhood in Uzhgorod , where he began to play football, first himself, and then - in a sports school [1] . In 1944 he was invited to the youth team of Uzhgorod " Spartak ". In 1949, as part of the national team DSO "Petrel" he went to Stalingrad , where the final matches for the championship of the central council of this sports society took place. Uzhgorod residents performed with dignity, and some players on the team drew attention to the coach of the local team of masters Sergey Plonsky , who invited them to play for the “ Torpedo ”. However, only Zoltan Breño remained in Stalingrad.

In 1953 he played for the Moscow Torpedo , which in the same year became the bronze medalist of the USSR Championship and reached the 1/4 finals of the USSR Cup. For high achievements in the field of sports, he, along with other team players, was awarded the honorary title of Master of Sports of the USSR .

In 1954 he played for the Gorky Torpedo . After that he moved to the “ Collective farmer ” in Poltava , as part of which in the Polish city ​​of Wloclawek he participated in the III International Games of Rural Youth, where he became the winner of this tournament under the guidance of head coach Joseph Lifshits [2] Then he returned to Uzhgorod, where he played for “ Spartacus".

After the player’s career ended, he worked as a coach for FC Khimik ( Perechin ) and Velikobereznyansky Vanguard [1] .

Achievements

  • Bronze medalist of the USSR Championship: 1953 .
  • Winner of the III International Rural Youth Sports Games: 1957.
