Daman e Koch ( Urdu دامن کوہ ) is an observation deck and a hilltop park north of Islamabad , located in the central part of the Margalla hills . The name of the park is a combination of the words Persian and Urdu: Daman , which means the center, and Koch , translated as a hill. Thus, Daman-e-Koch is translated as the center of the hill .
Daman-e-Koch is located at an altitude of about 730 meters above sea level and rises by almost 150 meters above Islamabad. It is a popular holiday destination for both residents and guests of the capital of Pakistan.
Daman e Koch is located halfway to Pir Sohava , the highest point and observation deck of the Margalla hills , located at an altitude of 1,100 meters above sea level. There are plans to create a cable car from Daman e Koch to Pir Sohava.
In the winter, monkeys are often found in the park. Also, cheetahs sometimes enter the park, descending here from the higher Murry hills during snowfalls.
