Born in the village of Uslimov, Tarusa district, Kaluga province, in the family of a poor peasant.
He took an active part in the establishment of Soviet power, was chairman of the Tarusa Military Revolutionary Committee. In June 1918 - May 1919 the chairman of the Tarusa Ukom of the RCP (B.). In 1919-1920 he worked in the Kaluga regional executive committee and the provincial party committee. Then sent to the Eagle.
- 1921–1922 - chairman of the Oryol regional executive committee
- 1922–2.1923 - Executive Secretary of the Oryol Provincial Committee of the RCP (b).
He was elected delegate of the 9.10 and 11th party congresses. He was a member of the CEC and the Central Executive Committee .
After 1923, he held senior positions in Siberia and in Moscow.
Member of the Great Patriotic War.
He was buried at the Novodevichy cemetery .
