Career

He graduated from the Naval Academy in Missouri.

At the Summer Olympic Games in Helsinki (1952) he won a gold medal as part of the G8. He also won three national championships three times.

After graduation, he continued his career as a naval officer, graduated from graduate school in nuclear energy at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
