In October 2005, Trent Reznor invited Alex to Nine Inch Nails , as the band's then drummer, Jerome Dillon , had health problems and the concerts were in jeopardy. His participation in Nine Inch Nails was a surprise for many fans, because then he was not widely known and had not performed with NIN before [1] . At the KROQ Acoustic Christmas show in December 2005, Alex was replaced by Josh Frieze . Despite the fact that Alex performed with the group at concerts for the rest of the tour in the USA and several concerts in South America, he refused to continue working at NIN, because he knew that Frieze was more interested in this place.

Alex took part in projects such as the solo tour of Julian Casablancas [2] , starred in an episode of the film “ New Adventures of Old Christine ”, performed with Crash Hot, Vicky Cryer and most recently with The Dead Daisies.
