Ohta Publishing ( Japanese 太 田 出版 about: that shuppan , Ota Publishing) is a Japanese publishing house. Thanks to a number of books that excited Japanese society and the erotic manga published by it, it has established itself as a source of provocative “subcultural” print media.

History
Ohta Publishing was founded in 1985, separating from the publishing department of Ohta Production , a talent search agency specializing in conversational comedians. (Ohta Publishing has now been transformed into a joint stock company .)
Initially, the publishing house and leadership style were ridiculed, because from the point of view of an outside observer, it seemed not to be a serious company, but rather a toy of Takeshi Kitano (at that time Ohta Promotion worked with him and was his booking agency ). Kitano practically published through Ohta Publishing what interested him [1] .
In 1989, the publishing house published the book “M nozidai” [2] about the serial maniac Tsutomu Miyazaki , and so gradually began to build up the reputation of Ohta Publishing as a source of provocative "subcultural" publications. Somewhere around this time, QuickJapan magazine was published twice a month. In 1993 and 1999, respectively, the publishing house published the books The Complete Guide to Suicide and Battle Royale , which unpleasantly agitated Japanese society [1] .
In the late 1990s, Ohta Publishing also began collaborating with the mangaka Naoki Yamamoto , nicknamed the “Erotic Maestro,” and founded the manga magazine Manga Erotics . His heir, Manga Erotics F , currently accounts for a significant portion of all manga sales by the publisher [1] .
Known Publications
The company is best known for books such as “M No Jidai” ( Japanese: M の 時代 ) (1989), The Complete Guide to Suicide (1993), Battle Royale (1999), as well as numerous manga , such as e.g. Tatami Galaxy and Eien no Zero . She also publishes the manga magazine Manga Erotics F and the magazine QuickJapan [1] . From recent manga, for example, Miyamoto kara Kimi e [3] and Kami no Kodomo [4] can be distinguished.
