White-necked South Asian goat [1] ( lat. Eurostopodus mystacalis ) is a bird from the family of real goats .

It lives in Eastern Australia , on the islands of New Guinea and New Caledonia , in the Solomon Islands . It inhabits subtropical and tropical forests, grassy and shrub savannas , sandy and rocky coasts. In the mountains it is found up to a height of 1650 m.
It forms 3 subspecies:
- Eurostopodus mystacalis nigripennis EP Ramsay , 1881 - northern and central Solomon Islands, including the island of Bougainville ;
- Eurostopodus mystacalis exul Mayr , 1941 - New Caledonia Island;
- Eurostopodus mystacalis mystacalis ( Temminck , 1826) - Eastern Australia from the Cape York Peninsula to the south through the eastern regions of Queensland and New South Wales to the east and south of Victoria , winters in the eastern half of New Guinea.
