Career

Club

A pupil of the Slovan hockey club from the capital of Slovakia . Debuting for the club’s main team at the beginning of the 1994/95 season, Vishnevsky almost immediately became its main player. In total, he played 6 years for Slovan, twice - in 1998 and 2000 - becoming the winner of the Slovak extra-league .

In 2000, drafted by the NHL club Los Angeles Kings . Unlike most other European hockey players who, after a draft, are sent to gain experience in farm clubs , Vishnevsky immediately after moving overseas spent a full season for Los Angeles, gaining 39 points in the regular season draw. At the end of the season, the Slovak defender was included in the symbolic team of NHL newcomers.

During the lockout, Vishnevsky went home, signing a one-year contract with Slovan. For this year, Lubomir once again won the championship of Slovakia and was recognized as the best player in the championship.

In the very first season after the lockout ended, Vishnevsky, who returned to the California club, set a personal performance record - 67 points (17 + 50) in the 2005/06 regular season . The following year he was included in the Western Conference team for the match of all NHL stars . In a very productive match even for informal games - 12: 9 in favor of the West team - Vishnevsky was noted for the puck and assist [1] .

June 29, 2008, with the start of the NHL season, Vishnevsky changed his club - exchanged for Edmonton Oilers , from where forward Jarrett Stoll and defender Matt Green proceeded in the opposite direction [2] . But the Slovak did not stay long in a new place: in March 2010, Anaheim Ducks , who needed to strengthen the defensive line [3] , agreed with Edmonton to transfer Wisniewski in exchange for Ryan Whitney and the right to choose a draft.

January 1, 2011 Lubomir Vishnevsky scored the hundredth puck in the NHL, distinguishing himself in the game against Philadelphia [4] .

In the summer of 2012, Wisniewski moved to the New York Islanders ; during a lockout that began in October, he again played for Slovan.

February 27, 2016 completed the professional career of a hockey player.
