As of 1873, it consisted of a settlement and 4 villages. The population is 2940 people (1470 males and 1470 females), 457 households and 6 separate households [1] .

Volost settlements:

  • Stepanovsko-Krynskaya - a settlement near the Krynka and Orlovka rivers , 120 versts from the district village and 12 versts from the Nikolaev railway station, 2533 people, 390 farm households and 6 separate houses, the farms consisted of: 156 plows, 421 horses, 628 pairs of oxen, 1521 head of other cattle, 2715 sheep;
  • Russo-Orlovka - a village near the Orlovka river for 124 versts from the district village and 16 versts from the Nikolaev station, 97 people, 16 farm households, the farms totaled: 8 plows, 11 horses, 25 pairs of oxen, 86 heads of other cattle, 98 sheep
  • Ust-Ocheretinsky - a village near the Guzskaya river 100 versts from the district village and 18 versts from the Nikolaev station, 240 people, 41 farm households, there were 16 plows, 67 horses, 64 pairs of oxen, 236 heads of other cattle, 547 sheep
  • Tuzlovsky - a village near the Ust-Ocheretinskaya beam, for 100 versts from the district village and 18 versts from the Nikolaev station, 70 people, 10 farm households, there were 3 plows, 8 horses, 16 pairs of oxen, 63 heads of other cattle, 43 sheep.

The foremen of the volost were: in 1905 - Ivan Nikitovich Gorbatkov [2] , in 1907 - Ivan Tyutyunnik [3] , in 1912 - V. M. Kraegolny [4] .
