Description
The theater was designed on the model of the Koyan Opera House [1] . When creating interiors and equipment, a detailed acoustic project was used. Large pockets of the stage allow you to mount the scenery parallel to the performance. According to experts, the theater entered the top ten halls in Russia. The theater building was designed by TPI Omskgrazhdanproekt JSC.
The theater is unique not only in the composition of creative and technical specialists , but also on technical equipment. The building has three underground (two technical) and seven above-ground floors. 14 elevators, including two freight. The theater has 20 make-up rooms (artistic) for 2, 4 and 10 people. During the construction of the theater, the needs of spectators with disabilities were also taken into account: there are special elevators for wheelchairs, ramps and ramps.
The large hall is made in the shape of a horseshoe; its capacity at maximum congestion is 1,356 seats. The large stage is designed so that the non-game space behind the stage coincides with it in area (width 18 m, depth 12 m).
In the Small Hall, chamber music concerts and small ballet performances are held, and it is also a good venue for training seminars and master classes. The maximum capacity of this room is 305 seats. A feature of the Small Scene is the ability to combine the level of the stalls with the level of the scene. Thus, with the help of mobile structures, the stalls become one with the scene space.
Experts from Japan (in particular, from the Yamaha company) and South Korea came to test concerts and auditions for consultation. For better sound distribution in the halls during the construction of the theater, natural materials were used to make the sound more voluminous and full. For example, a wooden suspended ceiling is made using a minimum of metal, all other materials are exclusively of natural origin. The ceiling itself is mounted on the cables. Also in the halls there are special panels that absorb sound and scatter it throughout the space.
Troupe
Theater troupes work on the Big and Small stages. The large hall of the theater is intended for large-scale opera and ballet performances, concerts of symphonic music, both for the whole orchestra and for soloists. Among the events that have already taken place over half a year, one can note the production of the opera Eugene Onegin, a concert by Denis Matsuev with the orchestra of the Primorsky Opera and Ballet Theater, a concert by soloists of the St. Petersburg International House of Music, and the world premiere of the ballet The Fourteenth.
Actors of the Primorsky Theater have already presented a number of events to the residents of the region. First of all, this is a production of the opera Eugene Onegin. As part of the music festival "Bridges of Culture: St. Petersburg - Vladivostok", the world premiere of the ballet "Fourteenth" to the music of Symphony No. 14 of Dmitry Shostakovich took place . This music festival allowed to bring unique musicians to Primorye, who held master classes for children and adolescents, students of music schools and institutions. Also on the stage of the theater are regularly held ballet performances, among which there are one-act ballets and excerpts from classical works.
The orchestra consists of musicians from Primorye, artists who came from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Belarus, South Korea. The chorus of the Primorsky Opera and Ballet Theater is completely composed of local vocalists.
Soloists of the opera company are representatives of the best theaters in the country [to clarify ] . Since 2015, the director of the theater opera is mezzo-soprano Larisa Dyadkova [2] . Many vocalists from St. Petersburg. For example, the tenor Alexei Kostyuk, Maria Bochmanova, who graduated from the St. Petersburg Conservatory only last year. Tatyana Makarchuk came from the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Center in Moscow (later it became known that she was from Big Stone ). In 2016, the artistic director of the theater Valery Gergiev announced the appointment of Pavel Smelkov as the main conductor of the Mariinsky Theater, Vladislav Karklin became the main guest conductor of the theater [3] .
