Pachybrachis peccans (lat.) - a species of crypto -beetles from the family of leaf beetles ( Chrysomelidae ). North America : a transcontinental species found from Texas to the Yukon ( Canada and the USA ). The length of the males is 2.15 ± 0.16 mm, the width is 1.13 ± 0.09 mm. The color is mainly brownish with yellowish marks on the dorsal side of the body (pronotum and elytra). The most massive and most widespread on the continent species of the genus Pachybrachis . Associated with plants Populus balsami-fera , Salix spp. ( Salicaceae ), Populus tremuloides , Vaccinium angustifolium ( Ericaceae ); Rubus spp. ( Rosaceae ) and Comptonia peregrina ( Myricaceae ). Larvae were also bred from the dead leaves of Salix interior . The species was first described in 1852 by the entomologist E. Suffrian [2] .
