The Australian Men 's Volleyball Championship is Australia 's annual men's volleyball team competition.

Since 1999, the organizer has been the Australian Volleyball League (AVL) . Until 1998, national and state teams participated in the championship.

Content

Competition Formula

In 2018, the AVL championship was held in two stages - preliminary and playoffs. At the preliminary stage, the participating teams are divided into 4 groups, in which they played in one round. According to its results, 2 best teams from each group reached the playoffs and in the format of “final eight” (quarter finals, semi-finals and finals) determined the winners of the championship.

The 2018 championship was held from October to December with the participation of 12 teams: Queensland Pirates ( Brisbane ), West Ostrelia Hornets ( Perth ), Canberra Heath ( Canberra ), Adelaide Storm ( Adelaide ), Canberra Center of Excellence ”( Canberra ),“ Tessie Echidnas ”( Hobart ),“ Queensland Buccaneers ”( Brisbane ), UTSSU ( Sydney ),“ Sydney Warriors ”( Sydney ),“ Uni Blues ”( Melbourne ),“ Victorian Academy Volleyball ”( Melbourne ) , Canberra Cobras ( Canberra ). In the final, Queensland Pirates defeated the Canberra Heat 3: 1. 3rd place went to West Ostreilia Hornets.
