Shagan ( kaz. Shahan ) is a village in Syrdarya district of Kyzylorda region of Kazakhstan . The administrative center and the only settlement of the Shagansky rural district. It is located approximately 18 km south of the district center, the village of Terenozek . The KATO code is 434853100 [1] .

Famous writer Abilmazhin Zhumabayev [2] (1929–2013) was born in the village of Shagan.
Population
In 1999, the population of the village was 3,974 people (1988 men and 1986 women) [3] . According to the 2009 census , 4,343 people lived in the village (2,226 men and 2,117 women) [3] .
