Sports career

At the age of eighteen, Rule played for the Amstel football club, which played in the championship of the Amsterdam Football Union. In September 1927, he requested a transfer from Amstel to the ODE club [2] . At that time he lived in the eastern part of Amsterdam at Kruegerplein 23 [2] . In September 1928, he was declared for the main composition of the ODE [3] . Later he played for the WFC club from Huisen , from which he transferred to the Ajax Amsterdam [4] . In September 1931 he was declared for the third Ajax roster [5] , and a year later he was already in the second team [6] .

He made his debut in the first team of Ajax on November 27, 1932, leaving the starting lineup in the match of the 9th round of the Dutch championship against Sparta [7] . Grass played a left-back position and, according to left a good impression on his debut [8] . The meeting at the De Mer home stadium ended in a victory for his team with a score of 2: 1 [9] . In the debut season he took part in ten championship matches [10] . In the next season , which became the champion for Ajax, Rule only once appeared on the field [11] .

For four seasons Grasse took part in 16 championship matches of the Netherlands [7] . The defender played for the last time for Ajax in the championship on February 16, 1936 in a home game against [7] . Personal life

Rule was born in May 1908 in Amsterdam [17] . Father - Gerrit Grasse, was originally from Delfzeyl , mother - Gertier Tee, was born in Zandam [18] . Parents got married in June 1891 in Amsterdam - at the time of marriage, his father was a carpenter [18] . Nine more children were raised in their family: four sons and five daughters [19] .

He married at the age of thirty - his wife was the 26-year-old Marta de Bruyne, a native of Cog-en-de-Zan . Their marriage was registered on January 11, 1939 in Amsterdam [17] . Two daughters were born in the marriage: Marluke and Wanda [17] . In November 1958 he moved with his family to the Australian city of Brisbane [17] .
