Ship Description
One of the nineteen ships of the Yaroslav type, built at the Solombala shipyard in Arkhangelsk . The length of the ship, according to various sources, ranged from 51.8 to 51.9 meters , width - 14.2 meters, and draft - 6.1 meters [1] [2] [3] .
Service History
The ship "Isidor" was laid down on October 10, 1792 at the Solombala shipyard in Arkhangelsk and, after launching in 1795, became part of the Baltic Fleet. The construction was carried out by the ship master G. Ignatiev [2] .
The ship took part in the war with France in 1798-1800. July 3, 1798 was included in the squadron of Rear Admiral E. E. Theta , as part of which he left Arkhangelsk to England for joint action with the English fleet against France and the Netherlands. On August 8, the squadron ships arrived at the Norsk raid, and by August 30 at Yarmouth . On September 20, as part of the combined Anglo-Russian squadron under the command of Vice Admiral Onslow, the ship went on a cruise to Texel Island, but on September 23 was forced to return to England because of damage to the mast , where it was until June of the following year [1] [2] .
On June 2, 1799, at the head of the squadron under the flag of Vice Admiral P.K. Kartsov, he left Portsmouth to the Mediterranean Sea to strengthen the squadron of F.F. Ushakov . Before Gibraltar, the Russian squadron escorted British transport ships. On August 3, the ships of the squadron arrived in Palermo , where on August 22 they became part of the squadron of F.F. Ushakov. On September 8, the combined squadron arrived in Naples [1] [2] .
On December 21, the squadron left Naples and headed for Malta to land. Upon arrival in Messina , an order was received from Emperor Paul I to return to Russia and on December 31, 1799 the ships left Messina and by January 7, 1800 arrived in Corfu. On March 20, Isidor left Corfu at the head of the squadron under the flag of Vice Admiral P.K. Kartsev. Since March 25, the squadron went on a cruise to the region of Sicily - Malta - the coast of Africa. On May 19, the squadron arrived in Palermo , leaving which May 27, and again returned to Corfu by June 2, where it connected with the squadron of F.F. Ushakov. On July 6, the combined squadron under the command of F. F. Ushakov left Corfu and on October 26, 1800 arrived in Sevastopol , where Isidor was transferred to the Black Sea Fleet [1] [2] .
In October 1804, the ship transported troops from Sevastopol to Poti as part of a detachment. In 1805, together with the frigate, Nazareth brought troops from Sevastopol to Corfu, and then returned to Sevastopol [2] .
He took part in the Russian-Turkish war of 1806-1812 . On April 21, 1807, as part of Rear Admiral S. A. Pustoshkin’s squadron, he left Sevastopol with soldiers of the 4th Marine Regiment on board. On April 27, the squadron arrived at Anapa , where on April 29, a landing party took the ships and took the fortress. On May 6, the squadron left Anapa and by May 13 returned to Sevastopol [2] [3] .
The Isidor ship did not go out to sea anymore; it was in the Sevastopol port, where it was dismantled after 1812 [2] [3] .
