The population is 1 915 people.
History
The first written mention dates back to 1227. Later it was the property of the Benedictine monastery, which was reflected in its coat of arms.
In 1599, a strong fire destroyed most of the city, in 1645 Vroutek was so looted by the Swedes that ten years later most of the houses were empty. After a while, a practically new city was rebuilt. Mostly, the city was inhabited by Germans.
