Main course ( English main course ) - the main course served with a meal consisting of several dishes. It usually follows the entre (entrée). The main dish is usually the hardest, hottest and most difficult dish on the menu. The main ingredients are meat or fish . In vegetarian cuisine , the main role is played by dishes from legumes. The main dish is preceded by appetizer, soup and (or) salad, followed by dessert. For these reasons, the main dish is sometimes called the "meat dish".
At formal dinners, a well-planned main dish can represent the culinary peak or culmination. In this case, the previous dishes are prepared and lead to the main dish in such a way that the main dish is anticipated, and, with a successful meal plan, increases the pleasure and enjoyment of lunch. Dishes that follow the main dish, soothe the taste and stomach. [one]
