Biography

Born into the family of Ron Potter, a former Ontario Mustangs footballer and coach, and Judith Potter, a singer who left her career for the family. He was the eldest of three sons. From early childhood, Chris loved hockey, baseball and football, and also studied at the amateur theater. Over the school years, he showed excellent results in sports and seriously thought about the career of an athlete, but his father was against it.

Chris dropped out of college and began his career as a rock musician, but soon realized that he liked the theater more and became a professional stage actor. However, before that, he had to work at an oil rig in Northern Canada , sell cars and become an insurance agent.

The first steps to Chris's fame were numerous commercials and a role in Material World. He attracted attention to himself after filming "Kung Fu: The Legend Continues" in 1992 . Potter signed a contract with Warner Bros , and in 1993 received his first film role.

In his free time, he sings and writes songs. Potter even recorded a disc called Tourmaline, for which he wrote all the songs on his own. He plays guitar, drums and keyboards with his music group in Toronto .

In 2000, Potter starred in the feature film The Rocket's Red Glare, for which he received the Best Actor award at the New York Award. He also appeared in the first season of the series “Close Friends”, and in the mini-series of ABC channel “A Wrinkle in Time” in 2003 .
