Biography

Since childhood, Ju Wenjun has preferred to play with adults, often ignoring the children's championships on the planet. At the age of 13, the Chinese chess player ranks second in the Asian Women's Championship, then wins the national championship and becomes a participant in tournaments of the highest rank.

As part of the Chinese team, she participated in 6 Olympiads (2008–2018) and 3 world team championships (2009-2013).

In 2012, at the World Championships in Khanty-Mansiysk, Wenjun reached the semi-finals, where she lost to the future champion Anna Ushenina .

December 29, 2017 Ju Wenjun became the winner of the World Rapid Chess Championship held in Saudi Arabia.

In May 2018, Ju Wenjun became the world champion in classical chess, beating Tan Zhongyi with a score of 5.5 - 4.5.

On November 23, 2018, Ju Wenjun won the World Championship, defeating Russian Ekaterina Lagno in a tiebreaker .
