“Chronicle of the Occupations of the Archaeographic Commission” is a scientific historical journal published irregularly from 1861 to 1929 by the Archaeographic Commission in St. Petersburg .

History
The magazine was published in St. Petersburg (and then Petrograd and Leningrad) in 1861-1929 indefinitely, in the form of issues. A total of 35 issues were issued.
The editors of the issues at different times were in charge of: A. N. Pypin (issues 1 and 2), P. I. Savvaitov (issue 3), K. N. Bestuzhev-Ryumin (issue 4), E. E. Zamyslovsky (issues 5 -eight).
The studies published in the publication were primarily of a source study nature. It printed extracts from the minutes of the meetings of the commission, materials and studies on ancient Russian written monuments, unpublished historical documents, descriptions of the largest archives and bibliography of archaeographic literature.
To date, the Chronicle retains the value of a valuable collection of systematized and commented on archaeographic materials.
Many prominent scientists took part in the journal at different times: M. A. Venevitinov , B. D. Grekov , M. G. Kurdyumov, N. P. Pavlov-Silvansky , M. N. Tikhomirov , A. A. Shakhmatov , etc. .
Of the largest works published in the journal, one can point to A. A. Shakhmatov's monograph “The Tale of Bygone Years”, published in volume 29 of 1917.
