In the Sempiternal album, the band was influenced by electronic music , ambient , pop . This is the first album where Oliver Sykes uses full-fledged clean vocals. "Sempiternal" is an obsolete English word for the term "eternal life" that will never end. This word originates from the Latin sempiternus . The album cover depicts the Flower of Life .
The album currently has four singles : "Shadow Moses", "Sleepwalking", "Can You Feel My Heart" and "Go To Hell, For Heavens Sake". The album debuted at number 3 on the UK album chart and is the second in a row at ARIA Charts in Australia. In 2011, Bring Me the Horizon completed a tour in support of their previous album There Is a Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It. There Is a Heaven, Let's Keep It a Secret . Later, the group decided to release an EP consisting of remixed compositions of the album. All work was carried out under the guidance of the British producer of electronic music. The EP was scheduled for approximately January 2012, but was canceled due to the situation with Visible Noise (then the band's label). In July of that year, it was announced that the group would release their fourth album on RCA Records .
The split of the band from Visible Noise was not seriously controversial, the group wanted to join large record companies due to lack of resources and wanted to enlist the support of independent labels that could help in the development of the album and the development of the group. An example of this is when frontman Oliver Sykes and his brother Tom, who directed the film, wanted to release a behind-the-scenes Bring Me Horizon documentary tour called Lads On Tour. This could have been part of the reissue of the third album, but it didn’t, since Visible Noise couldn’t pay for some parts of the film. RCA Records supported Bring Me the Horizon after signing the contract. The label presented the Bring Me the Horizon contract with a statement “Your contract is as important as the contract with Metallica ”.
