Biography

Anatoly Kuleshov was born on January 29, 1923 in the village of Konstantinovskaya (now the Kurganinsky district of the Krasnodar Territory ). He graduated from ten classes of the school. In October 1941, Kuleshov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army . In 1942, he graduated from the Leningrad Artillery School at an accelerated rate. Since November 1942 - on the fronts of World War II [1] .

By December 1944, Captain Anatoly Kuleshov was an intelligence officer of the 213th cannon artillery regiment of the 17th cannon artillery brigade of the 7th artillery division breaking through the 46th army of the 2nd Ukrainian Front . Distinguished himself during the liberation of Hungary . On the night of December 4-5, 1944, Kuleshov, along with a rifle battalion, crossed the Danube in the area of Erchi and conducted reconnaissance of enemy troops. Thanks to the adjustment of the regiment’s fire, carried out by Kuleshov, a large amount of military equipment and enemy manpower was destroyed [1] .

By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR dated March 24, 1945, Captain Anatoly Kuleshov was awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the awarding of the Order of Lenin and the Gold Star medal [1] .

After the war, Kuleshov continued to serve in the Soviet Army. In 1950, he graduated from the Higher Officer Staff Artillery School, in 1960 - the Central Artillery Officer Courses. In 1970, with the rank of lieutenant colonel, Kuleshov was sacked. He lived in Krasnodar [1] . He died in 1991 [2] (according to other sources - in 1988 [3] ).

He was also awarded the Order of the Red Banner and two orders of the Patriotic War of the 1st degree, a number of medals [1] .
