Childhood and Youth

Maxim Sapatkov was born on June 13, 1981 in Gomel in the family of vocal teacher Larisa Sergeevna and chief mechanical engineer Anatoly Ananievich Sapatkov. Maxim is the youngest child in the family (there is an older sister).

At the age of 6, he went to school No. 46 of Gomel with in-depth study of the French language (since 2007, gymnasium No. 46, in 2008 the gymnasium was named after Blaise Pascal). At the same time he studied at the music school in piano. He started singing from early childhood, but really began to get involved in singing from the age of 13. He was also fond of basketball, playing musical instruments, and showed great ability to study foreign languages and drawing. After music school he mastered the guitar.

In childhood, he first sang solo in the church song contest in Poland and won first place. As a gift, he received the Bible and the calendar, which he carefully keeps until now.

After grade 9, he entered the Vygotsky College of Music and Education. Since that time, for several years he participated in various unsuccessful musical tandems and groups. The longest was the participation in the SlamJam group (soul, pop and r'n'b), which lasted for 5 years. The group took part in all major republican competitions and became laureates in many of them, but no more. As part of the same group, Maxim was in the Orchestra. Yu.A. Vasilevsky. Later, when the group broke up, Maxim Sapatkov was invited to continue working in the orchestra as a soloist. From that moment began the professional career of the singer.

In 2000 he entered the Mozyr State Pedagogical University. Krupskaya . In parallel with his studies, Maxim continued to work in the orchestra, toured with him, wrote songs and gained musical and professional stage experience.

Seryoga Project

In 2002, Sapatkov received a grand prix at the international competition of young performers in Orel. In 2003, Sapatkov was invited to participate in the international festival of arts “Slavic Bazaar” in Vitebsk and became the first Belarusian performer to receive a grand prix in this competition [1] . “I was very glad that I had the opportunity to take part in the Slavic Bazaar contest. It was really not easy to beat him. After winning the “Slavic Bazaar”, my life was divided into two parts: in one I was Maxim Sapatkov, the performer of lyric songs and romances, in the other - Max Lorensem, part of the project that was gaining popularity “Serega”. Despite the fact that Maxim Sapatkova, after winning the contest, was waiting for popular love and popularity, I felt that the project “Serega” was much closer to me, where I was realized not only as a performer, but also as a musician and composer. ”

In 2004, Seryoga released the album My Yard: Weddings and a Funeral ( Sports Ditties in Russia), which brought the project popularity in all CIS countries . Maxim took part in the recording of the album as a vocalist and composer.

Over the next 7 years, Max Lawrence continued to work as part of the Seryoga project, which was actively touring at that time. Together with rapper Seryoga, he was engaged in writing lyrics, creating arrangements, performing at concerts with him. He participated in numerous popular shows and programs: KVN , Dinner Party , Golden Gramophone , Song of the Year , MTV Russia Music Awards , Star Factory , New Year's shows and others.

Solo career

In 2004, Seryoga and Max Lawrence recorded the soundtracks for the film “Shadow Boxing” - “Tomorrow Will Be Late” (“There is only here and now”), “King Ring”, “Swan”.

Max Lawrence recorded his first solo album Dancing in the Moon in 2008 in Berlin, working with German beatmakers. At that time, Max Lawrence already had a contract with King Ring, and his producer was rapper Seryoga.

In 2008, the video for Max Lawrence’s song “Going Crazy” was directed by Igor Ivanov.

In 2009, on the advice of composer Igor Krutoy, Max Lawrence submitted an application for participation in the New Wave contest of young performers and came to him as a contestant from Belarus. He became a laureate of the contest, having received the title of “Most sexy singer” ( Eng. The sexiest performer ).

The compositions "Swan", "Near your house", "Going crazy" became hits and broadcast on all radio stations in Russia. The clip for the song "Swan", by coincidence, was never shot.

In 2010, the collaboration of Max Lawrence and the King Ring label ended. After a short creative pause, Max Lawrence somewhat changed the direction of the style. The song “The City Doesn’t Sleep That Night”, recorded earlier together with Dj Miller, opened the way for him to clubs. For some time, the performer worked on the creation of a disco-house dance program. At this time, close cooperation began with the Russian rapper St1m . “During this period, I work in the studio in my free time from tours: I create arrangements, write lyrics and music. Today I feel that I’ve become a solo artist, and I’m ready not only to continue to create more, but also to share my experience with others. ”

In 2010, Max Lawrence took part in the extreme reality show "Sweep", which was shot in Argentina [2] . In 2011, the artist made a Belarusian-language cover “ Belor. Zryvayte dah ”to the song“ Rus. I'm going crazy ”for the compilation of“ Budzma! Tuzin. Reloading-2 ” [3] .

Max Lawrence collaborated with such domestic and foreign performers as Seryoga , Bianka , Anyuta Slavskaya, Didyula ( Eurovision Song Contest 2014 ), Satsura, Lyon , Anggun , St1m , ST , Dj Shevtsov and Dj Miller and others.
