Biography
The story of Mirrortrone begins in June 2000, when Vladimir, while composing the new Weeping Birth album and recording Unholy Matrimony's debut album "Love and Death", decided to try his skills in composing compositions that would include elements besides traditional sounding for his projects neoclassical and symphonic music. The desire to combine aggression and melancholy, righteous anger and sincere frankness in the new musical mood eventually turned into the idea of writing an album that would tell about the relationship between man and nature, revealing to the listener the dramatic consequences of the influence of anthropogenic civilization on the world around. It is worth noting that the key aspect of work in this direction was Vladimir’s many-year philosophical research in the field of phenomenology , namely, the study of the works of such famous philosophers as Martin Heidegger , Edmund Husserl [1] and Oswald Spengler , to whom Racines Dénudées [2 is dedicated to the debut disc ] .
The first demo, which was released in February 2001 in the amount of 50 copies, included 4 tracks, on two of which (Beyond the Mirrorthrone and Notion Of Perfect) you could hear the parts of female vocals performed by Martha Gallas, who left the project shortly after the release of the aforementioned drive. Continuing active work on the project, in December 2002, with a circulation of 100 copies, Vladimir released the next Mirrorthrone demo, called "Promo December 2002", which, in addition to the four tracks from the previous release, included two draft versions of new compositions.
Shortly after the December release, the American label Red Stream became interested in the project, which subsequently released the debut full-length Mirrorthrone on May 8, 2003, borrowing its name from the 2001 release "Of Wind And Weeping". The work was met with high marks and commendations both in Switzerland and from foreign critics of the metal scene, who appreciated the work for its unconventional approach to the composition, the penetrating atmosphere of romanticism and baroque, the pleasing to the ear keyboards and mesmerizing vocals, allowing you to penetrate the atmosphere of the material you listen to the depths of the soul. Thanks to the recognition of the debut underground album by the community, as well as dozens of positive reviews by ordinary listeners, Vladimir decided not to make extra pauses in the creative process and in 2004 set to work on the ideological follower Of Wind And Weeping [3] .
Vladimir took about 3 years to work on the second album, however, when the Carriers Of Dust album was released in January 2006, it immediately made it clear that the listener was dealing with a truly monumental and orthodox creation. With the naked eye, it was noticeable that the project underwent a tremendous qualitative evolution, which was reflected primarily in the quality of the recording and information of the material, as well as the lyrical filling of the album. His main idea, as in the case of the work of 2003, was to recreate a specific atmosphere, where the gloomy sound of an organ and violin seemed to cover the listener's mind, when the frantic speed of the drum machine and the hatred contained in the guitar passages pierced through his heart.
The structure of the album might initially have seemed a little extraordinary for Vladimir's projects, for it included only 4 tracks, one of which lasted about 20 minutes. However, as soon as you became more familiar with its contents, you could already say without a shadow of pretense that you were dealing with the same ingenious composer, each second of the music of which has its own, special and unique meaning. The lyrical concept of the album this time had a much brighter and more radical character than the melancholy and at first glance innocent thoughts about the fate of man presented in the debut album. The album's release, as in the case of its predecessor, took place on the Red Stream label [4] .
The recording of material for the third album came at a time when Vladimir was actively working on Carriers Of Dust, subsequently making the decision not to mix these tracks and save them for future years, while preserving at the same time the periodicity of new records set by previous releases. True to its traditions, two years after the second album, namely on April 14, 2008, the third and to date Mirrorthrone's latest work, entitled "Gangrene", was published on the well-known Red Stream label reader. An exceptional feature of this record is its mastering within the walls of Paradise Studio under the direction of Geoffrey Lagrange. It is also worth noting that the composition So So Frail, in contrast to its brothers, was recorded and mixed only in 2007-2008. She was subsequently included in the soundtrack of the video game Brutal Legend [4] .
Gangrene, as an ideological follower of Carriers Of Dust, continued to amaze and amaze listeners with exquisite and virtuoso musical techniques, the abundance and color of symphonic parts, the tragedy and emotional openness of strings (Fecal Rebellion), the unstoppable aggression of drum machines and the insightful technique of playing guitar parts. Having listened to the opinion of critics after the release of the second album, Vladimir managed to correct many minor flaws, which allowed to achieve even more impressive and breathtaking sound in the overall dynamics of the album. The lyrical content of the first five tracks has not undergone significant changes since the time of its predecessor, misanthropic motifs still elegantly merge with the sincere sincerity of Vladimir’s clean vocals, accompanying this emotional journey with many questions about what is really happening in the world now, who is responsible for it and are we ready for the future that we doom ourselves with irrevocably our actions.
About 5 years have passed since then, during which time Vladimir founded his own recording studio Conatus Studios, becoming one of the most famous and professional sound engineers in the metal community in his homeland in Switzerland, producing an incredible number of albums and giving wide popularity to many young artists playing mainly in the style of Metalcore [5] .
Mirrorthrone found a second wind only by the middle of 2012, when Vladimir was able to find free time in his busy schedule in order to finally complete the composition and recording of fresh material. According to him, the new compositions retained the main characteristics of the records of 2006 and 2008, but in terms of sound quality they reached a completely new level, where a special role was given to work on the technique of guitar passages, an abundance of keyboards and symphonic parts, as well as a qualitatively new approach in the matter of programming drum machines. Vlad planned to release the album until the end of 2013, but he had to postpone this venture due to reasons unknown to this day for an indefinite period [4] .
