Content
History
It was founded in 1969 as a branch of the Moscow IGiRGI. After joining a number of branches of the Kuibyshev Scientific Research Institute of NP in 1982 it was transformed into the Volga branch of the IGiRGI and became a territorial research institute for the Kuibyshev and Orenburg regions . Currently, he performs the functions of the lead institute in terms of generalization and analysis of geological documentation throughout the Volga-Ural oil and gas province (which includes 16 constituent entities of the Russian Federation related to the territory of the Ural-Volga region).
Scientific activity
The VOIGIRGI employees tested 29 experimental samples of the Iskra 20/70 seismic wave excitation sources (Samara, Tyumen regions , Belarus , Kuzbass , Crimea, Caspian, Black, Baltic, Barents, Okhotsk seas and the Pacific) under various geological conditions, conducted studies to determine the physical condition of rocks under the foundations of Kursk, Novovoronezh, Bashkir, Bilibino and other nuclear power plants. In addition, geological studies and justifications of the construction areas of the Crimean NPP and the Kuibyshev NPP were completed; studied the seismicity of the Samara region. Employees of VOIGIRGI conduct remote studies based on integrated processing of aerospace images of the earth's surface, geomorphological and hydrodynamic analysis of the relief
Employees of VOIGIRGI received more than 70 copyright certificates for inventions in the field of geophysical instrumentation; 14 monographs and 549 articles were published, 530 reports were read at scientific and industrial conferences, seminars and meetings, 12 reports were made at international conferences, 10 articles were published in foreign specialized publications. 34 works were awarded with VDNKh medals, 1 work was awarded to them.
