The presidential election in Chile took place on December 11, 1993, simultaneously with the parliamentary elections . Eduardo Frey Ruiz-Tagle , a candidate for the Coalition of Parties for Democracy, son of Chile’s 28th President Eduardo Frey Montalva , received 58% of the vote and became the new president of the country.
