“Shoes” ( eng. Shoes ) - a film directed by Konstantin Fama in 2012 , the winner of many film festivals, the only contender from Russia for the Oscar in the nomination “Best Short Film” for 2013 [1] [2] . The film "Shoes" was the first novelty of the film "Witnesses" , dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Holocaust .

Content
Story
The plot of the film unfolds in the 30s-40s of the XX century and tells the story of a pair of women's shoes, which begins in the shop window and tragically ends in the mass grave of the shoes of the Auschwitz concentration camp .

Production
Filming took place in Prague (Czech Republic), Paris (France), Poland, Belarus and Russia. The full production cycle took more than a year and about 20 shooting days. More than 400 people took part in the work [3] .
Artistic features
In the novel "Shoes" the main character is the shoes - women's shoes. There are no faces in the frame and there are no dialogues. The entire film is accompanied by original symphonic music.

Cultural Influence
The movie "Shoes", like the entire Kinoalmanah "Witnesses" , has an important cultural function. Thus, on November 4, 2013, the deputy director of the Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Efim Rezvan, on behalf of the Museum, presented the film team with an honorary diploma with the wording “for bright creative contributions to museum exhibition programs and preservation of memory” [14] .
It is planned to create an educational program for schoolchildren in Germany in cooperation with the Department of Human Rights and the Department of Education in Nuremberg .
