Story

According to Ural tradition, before the wedding, all relatives are supposed to wash in the bath. Aunt Nyurka, “the mistress of the bathhouse, the matchmaker, the witch, and just the village dashing grandmother” [1] , prepares the bathhouse and, with the help of the old Family Spirit, Bannik puts the young ones to the test.

The matchmakers are soaring that their souls fly off. Young people held in the ritual bath. Her groom peeps out of the window through the window. He fell - his soul flew away very far, Moloduha could not catch her. The soul returned to the guy - and then the men still “rushed”, and he was with them. Grandma Nyura had to drag him from the bathhouse to the house, and she appeased Bannik with candy.

Artistic Features

The film is made in the technique of hand-drawn animation .
“The Recent History of Russian Cinema”, Elena Gracheva: [2]

The Russian bath became a microcosm, by which nothing passed in the Russian village. Of course, they washed in it, but in it they gave birth and were charmed, and in the Urals, for example, they introduced the bride and groom on the eve of the wedding. The Nyurkina bath began with the image of a bannik - a “demoted” pagan god who was supposed to keep an eye on his masters. And then Cherkasov and Kozhushana came up with all the others: the local "authority" - the cunning woman Nyura, who went over and fell asleep in the bathhouse of the groom and other participants in the events. Nyurkina bath, funny and mysterious, warm and creepy, poetic and rude, went around all the festivals of the world and was shown on the screen of RTR. The masters who created the SHAR studio, on which the picture was made, do not skimp on the praise:
Eduard Nazarov lamented that there is no female equivalent to the word "genius";
Yuri Norshtein expressed admiration for "naivety, warmth and innocence."
A “simple story” about how the whole family washes in the bath on the eve of the wedding will be one of those films in which animation students are taught to make real movies.
