Bradua came from Liguria and was the son of Marc Valery Bradua Claudian, who was consul-suffice for about 172 . In 191, Mauritius held the post of ordinary consul along with Popillius Pedron Apronian . Then, in the same year, he was the curator of public buildings and the curator of aqueducts (191-197?). In 197, Bradua was the censor (responsible for conducting the qualification) of the province of Aquitaine . Finally, he was proconsul of the province of Africa around 206. Mauritius was also part of a priestly collegium dedicated to the emperor Hadrian .
