Biography
Born in Washington , Teddy Sears was raised in Chevy Chase, Maryland [1] , in a family whose roots go back to Plymouth, Massachusetts in 1630 [2] . He studied at the school "Landon" in Bethesda [1] . In high school, he was the captain of a football team, getting into the top ten champions of the national list of participants in overcoming the 100-yard breaststroke [2] . His great-great-grandfather won the gold medal in shooting at the 1912 Olympics, and his aunt won the bronze at the 1956 games for overcoming the 100-yard butterfly stroke [2] . Teddy played for the football team at the University of Maryland. After some time, he transferred to the University of Virginia [1] , where at the end he received a degree in business management in 1999.
Career
Sears ended his career as a businessman when he arrived in New York after graduating from university. After the first trials, the actor received a contract for 2 years for his role in the series “ One Life to Live ” [1] . Then, after guest appearances in the series Law and Order and the sitcom Whoopi, Teddy joined the two-year actor training program, where William Esper was one of the mentors. Thanks to the program, Sears received roles in the comedy shows Late Show with David Letterman and Late Show with Conan O'Brien.
In the period from 2005 to 2009, the actor appeared in guest roles in many popular TV series: “The Ugly Girl ”, “ CSI: The Miami Crime Scene ”, “ Mad Men ”, “ Las Vegas ”, “ Doll House ” by Joss Whedon and others [2] . In 2010, he appeared in 28 episodes in the main cast of the drama “Lawyer Practice” on TNT [3] and starred in the dramatic film “ Client List ” [4] .
In 2011, he played in the first season of the series “ American Horror Story ” by Ryan Murphy [5] , in 2012 he appeared as a detective in the mystical drama “Park Avenue, 666” [6] . Currently acting in the series " Masters of Sex ", playing the role of the main cast [7] .
In 2015, Teddy was included in the cast of the second season of the Flash superhero series, in which he received the role of Jay Garrick - the very first Flash from DC comics , which in the plot of the series is an alien from the parallel world of Earth-2. However, in the end it turned out that Sears actually plays the role of Hunter Solomon's supervillain , nicknamed Zoom , who is the main antagonist of the season.
