Anna Alekseevna Pogorilaya (after the marriage of Nevskaya ) (born April 10, 1998 in Moscow , Russia ) was a Russian figure skater performing in single skating . Bronze medalist of the World Cup 2016 [2] . Silver ( 2017 ) and two-time bronze medalist of European Championships 2015 and 2016 , bronze medalist of the Grand Prix finals of the season 2016–2017 . Career
Junior period
Anna Pogorilaya was born on April 10, 1998 in Moscow, she has been involved in figure skating since she was four years old. In March 2009, ranked second in the Championship of Russia (ml. Vz.) [4] . The 2009/2010 season is completely missed due to injury. Since 2012, member of the Russian national figure skating team. In December 2012, she took the third place in the junior Grand Prix final in Sochi . In March 2013, Anna Pogorilaya, in tough competition with her friends from the national team, as well as US figure skaters Samantha Sisario and Kurtney Hicks (who took the first and third places after the short program), won a bronze medal at the Junior World Championships in Milan . For the third time, girls from Russia at the junior world championships took the whole pedestal, after a long break (this was four times, in 1996, 1998, 2013, 2014).
Post-Junior Period
In the fall of 2013, she began performing in an adult nomination. Very successfully performed in November in Beijing in the Chinese Cup , where she won [5] , ahead of European champion and former world champion Karolina Kostner and vice-champion of Europe Adeline Sotnikova [6] . At the stage in France, she was third [7] , which allowed her to get to the Grand Prix Final [8] .
However, at the very final in Tokyo, she did not cope with anxiety, performed worse than at the stages, and took the last place [9] . The recession continued further, and back problems also arose. At the end of the year, when selecting for the national team in the Russian championship, she was in the middle of the standings [10] , Anna took the eighth place in the overall standings and the fourth of those who, by age, had the right to participate in the adult championships and the Olympic Games. She did not get into the national team of the European Championship (although she was listed as the first substitute [11] ) and began treating her injuries. At the end of February 2014, Anna Pogorilaya won the Grand Final of Russia in Veliky Novgorod [12] . Soon she was included in the Russian team for the World Cup [13] . At the World Championships in Japan in the short program, she showed her best result of all time and after the short program closed the six [14] , thereby becoming one of the six best performers in the last, strongest warm-up of an arbitrary program. In the free program in her debut championship she made a splash, receiving a small bronze medal and beating all rivals in the technical assessment. As a result, she was one step away from the podium at the world championship [15] .
After the Olympic season, Anna was going to start performing at the Nebelhorn Trophy tournament ( Oberstdorf , Germany ) on September 25-27, 2014. However, Yulia Lipnitskaya withdrew from the commercial competition Japan Open (scheduled for October 4, 2014), Anna replaced her and therefore had to withdraw from the Nebelhorn Trophy, where she was replaced by Elizaveta Tuktamysheva [16] . The first start of the new season for Anna was the team tournament Japan Open in early October, where the European team (the female part of this team was two Russian figure skaters Anna Pogorilaya and Elena Radionova ) took the first place [17] .
October 31 - November 2, 2014 she successfully performed at the second stage of the Grand Prix in Canada , where she won first place [18] . Two weeks later, Anna performed at the Grand Prix home stage . Home ice played a cruel joke with her, strong emotion affected and the athlete finished second, but advanced to the Grand Prix final [19] . In Barcelona, at the finals, she performed better than last year, but remained without medals [20] . At the 2015 Russian Championship, she also performed better than in the past and the year before, but also remained without medals [21] . Given that some medalists could not compete at the European Championships , Pogorilaya was included in the national team for the European championship in Stockholm . Debut was successful she won a bronze medal [22] . After that, she was invited to the national team and the World Cup in Shanghai . During the preparation, she received a serious injury, but she continued to prepare for the start. She came to the competition not ready, in view of the fact that she was preparing inferior. As a result, a terrible fall in the short program and the breakdown of an arbitrary [23] .
In October 2015, Anna began performing in the new season, she started at the Ondrej Nepela Memorial . She skated a short program very badly, but managed to pack up and won an arbitrary one; but in total it was in second place [24] . Two weeks later, in the international tournament Mordovian Patterns in Saransk, she managed to win first place in this tournament in tough struggle with other Russian figure skaters, but at the same time, after a short program, was in second place (while improving her previous sporting achievements) [25] . Three weeks later, she started at the Audi Grand Prix Cup of China . The figure skater did not perform very well and took fourth place [26] . The athlete at the final stage of the Grand Prix in Nagano performed poorly [27] . At the national championship, she performed successfully and for the first time in a difficult fight won the medal of the Russian championship. A month later, in Bratislava, in the European Championship, she confidently won the bronze medal. In early April in Boston at the world championship , the Russian figure skater managed to win a bronze medal. However, she was in second place after the short program [28] . In the USA, Anna improved her previous achievement in the short program.
For the next pre-Olympic season, the current Uzbek figure skater, Misha Ge, put her short program [29] . In October, Anna began a new pre-Olympic season in Finlandia Trophy in neighboring Finland , the performance was not entirely successful. She was in the lead after the short program, but failed arbitrary and finished in third place [30] . In early November, the Russian figure skater performed at the home stage of the Grand Prix in Moscow , where she confidently took the first place at the Rostelecom Cup , while improving all her previous achievements in total [31] . At the end of November, she performed at the final stage of the Grand Prix in Sapporo , where she confidently took first place [32] . This allowed her to confidently reach the final of the Grand Prix in Marseilles , where Anna won a bronze medal and improved her previous achievements in sum and free skating [33] . At the end of December in Chelyabinsk in a bitter struggle, she failed to defend the bronze medal of the championship of Russia [34] . At the European Championships in Ostrava, she took second place, losing only to her compatriot Evgenia Medvedeva and ahead of the Italian figure skater Caroline Kostner , while improving the previous achievements in the short program [35] . At the end of March at the World Championships in Helsinki , after a short program, she took a place next to the pedestal; but Anna failed an arbitrary program and moved into the second ten [36] .
The new Olympic season, the Russian figure skater began in the Grand Prix series at the Canadian stage , where, after the short program, she was second, but because of mistakes in the arbitrary, she finished ninth [37] . As a result of the falls at this stage, she injured her back, which resulted in her withdrawing from the second stage in the United States [38] . Also because of this, she did not play at the national championship in December [39] and ended the season ahead of schedule.
Personal life
In 2015 she entered the RSUFKSMiT . July 14, 2018 married the former skater Andrei Nevsky [40] .
