History
Archaeologists have found here a parking lot of people belonging to the Bronze Age.
In 1963, villagers and folk artist Martin Benko asked the government to return to the settlement the former name Kiripolec, but the Czechoslovak authorities did not agree to this, arguing that the current name is the most appropriate translation of the historical name of the settlement that existed since Great Moravia . In addition, the current name of the village means "the place of the ancient church", the image of which flaunts on Kostolishte's coat of arms.
