Biography
Born August 2, 1942 in Bratislava, Slovakia.
A refrigeration fitter by profession, has been the goalkeeper of the Czechoslovak team for 16 years, winning three gold, three silver and four bronze medals at world championships, as well as one silver and two bronze Olympic medals.
In total, in the national championship of Czechoslovakia on his account 571 matches and another 139 games for the national team of this country.
For North American fans, he is mostly known for the victory of the Czechoslovak national team over Canada in 1976 at the Canada Cup (1–0, where he scored 29 shots). [3]
Having completed his playing career, Dzurilla began to train young goalkeepers in Czechoslovakia, Switzerland and Germany. His last game was in Stockholm in May 1995 , when the Swedish veteran team played against the world team. As part of the latter, Dzurilla spoke.
Died July 25, 1995 of a heart attack at his home in Dusseldorf, Germany.
In 1998 he was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame , since 2002 - a member of the Slovak Hockey Hall of Fame.
He was awarded the medals of Czechoslovakia .
