Content

Geography

The municipality consists of the ancient settlements of Remire and Monjoli. Known for its beaches. The three coastal islands of деle de Remire are administratively subordinate to the commune of Cayenne. History

In 1608, several English families who emigrated from Europe settled on the Mauri Plateau, but all of them were killed by local Indians. In October 1652, the Remire settlement was founded by the vice-chairman of the Parisian society by the name of Vertomon, which already the next year was attacked by the natives . Economy
