Endemic of South Africa : South Africa (Transvaal, Pretoria, Zoutpansberg) [1] . Caterpillars feed on plants of the species Celtis africana (family Ulmaceae ), mine the upper surface of the leaves. St. celtifoliella is close to the species Stigmella platyzona , differing from it in the details of the structure of the genitals. Adult butterflies fly in January and April. The species was described by the South African entomologist L. Vari (Dr L. Vari; Transvaal Museum, South Africa) [2] [3] . In the apical part of the fore wings, two veins are developed: R 4 + 5 and M [4] .
