Story
In the vicinity of the village, located at the foot of Fuji , a strong earthquake happens, and a giant robot Moger emerges from a hidden cave, which begins to destroy nearby settlements with laser cannons. The combat vehicle can only be stopped by a large amount of explosives. Later, several UFOs are observed throughout the district, a strange object appears at the foot of Fuji, a base quickly erected by aliens. The newcomers invite to themselves a few scientists and politicians who tell about themselves. After their planet Mysteroid, located in the asteroid belt , was destroyed by a nuclear war, some of the Mysterians managed to escape and settle on Mars . However, now their people are very few, and to ensure the continued existence of their species, the aliens are asked to give them a small area on Earth and give them a few women to continue their race. Earthlings refuse, because the robot Moguer belonged to the Mysterians, and from that day begins a global war between humanity and aliens.

Production
Initially, there should not have been any monsters in the film, but producer Tomoyuki Tanaka had an idea to use kaiju in the film. As an option, he considered a lizard-like creature, but in the end it was replaced with a huge robot for greater clarity of the technical superiority of the Misterians. On the basis of the rejected design of the monstrous pangolin, Baragon was later created for the film “ Frankenstein vs. Baragon ”.
Moguer's robot later reappeared in the film “ Godzilla vs. Space Godzilla, ” but there he is already a creation of people, not an alien race.
