Biography
Born in the family of the founder and director of the publishing house Shmuel Levin-Epstein. He received a traditional Jewish education, first in a heder , then in the Volozhin yeshiva . From a young age, a member of the Hovevei Zion in Warsaw , where his father’s publishing house was located.
In 1890 he emigrated to Eretz Yisrael . One of the founders of Rehovot . In 1896, he headed the local education committee. Together with S.H. Valkomits, he founded the first school in Rehovot . In 1896, he participated in the creation of the Carmel company for the supply of Russian wines. In 1900, he founded a branch of the company in New York and headed it for many years. He took an active part in the Zionist movement of the United States . In 1918 he returned to Eretz Yisrael .
