About the album
In September 2012, Tony Bennett told Rolling Stone in an interview that Lady Gaga wants to record a joint jazz album. On January 8, 2013, Marion Evans, who received a Grammy Award for songwriter / composer who staged Tony Bennett and Lady Gage a joint duet “ The Lady Is a Tramp ” for Bennett's album , Duets II, “announced in an interview that he quite significant participation in the creation of the album. Critical Reception
Jill Kaufman of MTV News praised the album, calling Bennett and Gaga "a marriage made in heaven." He added that the singers were able to “flawlessly” combine their unique vocal parts, which was reflected in their studio, and thus in the songs from Cheek To Cheek . Caroline Sullivan of The Guardian gave the album four out of five stars, stating that "Gaga is a miracle." She also praised the considerable warmth and depth of her voice. Critic Will Hodkinson of The Times praised the album, giving him four out of five stars. He added that Gaga could be "a Upper Manhattan patron at beer bars and clubs." Commercial Reception
Cheek to Cheek debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with 131,000 copies sold in its first week. Thus, Gaga was the first in history to receive her third “number 1” in this decade.
