The Kamyshin mountains Ushi and Lob are a natural monument of regional significance, created with the aim of preserving a unique section of tertiary sediments with fragments of paleoflora. Located in the Kamyshin district of the Volgograd region. On the territory of the protected areas is the mountain of the same name Kamyshin ears .

Description

The natural monument was established by resolution of the Head of Administration of the Volgograd Region dated 04.05.2011 No. 437 "On the natural monument of regional significance" Kamyshin mountains Ushi and Lob within the boundaries of the Kamyshin district of the Volgograd region. "Located near the city district of Kamyshin . Protected areas - 31 hectares: the first section - 12 hectares, the second - 19 hectares of physiographic regions:. East European plain , Volga Uplands , Volga-Ilovlinsky district, subdistrict high plateau [1] . Nature area - steppe subzone - dry steppe on chestnut on Islands. Terrain Ilovlinsky-bedded Volzhsky dining-stage strongly dissected ravine network [2] . Climate arid [3] .

The soils are chestnut and chestnut solonetzic; soil texture is sandy and sandy; crushed stone soils occur in places; the content of solonetzes (up to 10-25%). Soil-forming rocks - eluvial deposits, sand alternation. Bedrock is an undivided Quaternary sediment. Anthropogenic impact: Export of soil and rocks, collection of mineralogical collections, mechanical, chemical damage to rocks.

Land Use Restrictions

The following are prohibited on the territory of the Natural Monument:

  • construction of buildings and structures, roads and pipelines , power lines and other communications;
  • blasting, exploration and mining;
  • accumulation and disposal of production and consumption waste;
  • provision of land for development, for collective and individual gardening and horticulture, organization of subsidiary farming;
  • removal of soil and rocks;
  • collection of mineralogical collections, with the exception of collecting for research and environmental education purposes;
  • mechanical, chemical damage to rocks.

The Committee for Environmental Protection and Nature Management of the Volgograd Region is responsible for ensuring the protection and functioning of protected areas .
