Vinaly

Vinals - in ancient Rome, festivals of vintage and winemaking ( April 23 and August 19 ). Associated with the cult of Jupiter and Venus .

The rituals practiced during the celebration were that the new wine was poured on the ground at the temple of Venus and sacrifices were made to Jupiter. Legend attributed the establishment of this holiday to the beginning of Rome, when Aeneas , and according to another version - Ascanius , waging war with the king of Etruscan Mezentius , made a vow to Jupiter to dedicate to him the vintage for this year in all of Latium and won a victory over the enemy.
