The Proval tract is a natural monument of regional significance, created with the aim of preserving a unique natural complex - floodplain forest, a place of growth of valuable, small, rare and endangered plant species, including those listed in the Red Book of the Volgograd Region. It is located on the right bank of the Don River in the floodplain 6 kilometers west of the Logovsky farm and 2.3 kilometers from the Melokletsky farm ( Kletsky district , Kletskoye and Perekopsky rural settlements ) [1] .

Description
The natural monument was established by resolution No. 993 of the Head of the Administration of the Volgograd Region dated August 25, 2009 “On Declaring the Territories within the Borders of Dubovsky, Kletsky, Staropoltavsky, Surovikinsky Municipal Districts of Volgograd Oblast as Nature Monuments of Regional Importance”. The area of protected areas is 124 ha . Physical-geographical region: East European Plain , Don Upland , Chir-Don Don , low plateau subarea [2] . The natural zone is steppe, the subzone is dry steppes on chestnut soils. The landscape of Pridonskaya is elevated flat-convex ravine-girder [3] .
The soil cover is represented by dark chestnut underdeveloped shortened carbonate strongly cartilaginous soils in combination with dark chestnut incompletely developed low-power carbonate medium cartilaginous soils (up to 25-50%). Soil-forming rocks - an alternation of limestone, clay, sand, sandstone, flask, chalk, related to the Upper Carboniferous, Jurassic, Cretaceous and Oligocene-Miocene. Bedrock - quaternary cover deposits of the Cretaceous system. The hydrological network is represented by the Don River and small lakes. Sixty percent of the territory is occupied by a floodplain forest, which is a mixed vetch-sedge forest plantation, the rest is meadow-shrub vegetation.

- Protaetia aeruginosa - Smooth bronze , category of rarity status in the Volgograd region 2.
Objects of the plant world listed in the Red Book of the Volgograd Region :
- Juniperus sabina - Cossack Juniper, rarity status category in the Volgograd region 2a; regional rarity criterion A.
- Potamogetum acutifolius - Holly-leaved rest, category of rarity status in the Volgograd region 3b; regional rarity criterion C.
- Carex liparocarpos - Glacial sedge, category of rarity status in the Volgograd region 3g; regional rarity criterion C.
- Trapa natans - Hazelnut, chilli, rarity status category in the Volgograd Region 3b; regional rarity criterion A.
Land Use Restrictions
On the territory of the natural monument are prohibited:
- plowing of land, the construction of buildings and structures, roads and pipelines, power lines and other communications, blasting and the development of new mineral deposits;
- uncontrolled cattle grazing and its driving through the territory of the Natural Monument;
- collection and destruction of plants;
- felling of forest stands, except for sanitary-improving measures (felling of dead and damaged forest stands, cleaning of forests from littering, pollution and other negative impacts);
- change in the established hydrological regime of the territory;
- the use of pesticides and chemical plant protection products by agricultural and other organizations and enterprises without prior coordination with a specially authorized body;
- travel outside public roads, parking outside designated areas;
- disposal of production and consumption waste;
- provision of land for development, for collective and individual gardening and horticulture, organization of subsidiary farming.
The Committee for Environmental Protection and Nature Management of the Volgograd Region is responsible for ensuring the protection and functioning of protected areas .
