Biography
He came from a noble French family, was born on June 3, 1780 in Metz . In 1803, with the rank of lieutenant engineer, he arrived in Russia. Since 1810 he began teaching activities in various Moscow educational institutions: at the Commercial School (since 1810), at the Catherine Institute (since 1811), at the University Noble Boarding School (from 1814), at Moscow University (from 1816 to 1829) and in the cadet corps (since 1826). Pelt taught students syntax and explained the theoretical rules of literature; he had a good pronunciation of French poetry. He died on July 15, 1829, was buried at Vvedensky cemetery [1] .
