He began to play tennis at the age of 8 years. His father Thierry is an architect, his mother Bernadette is a home decorator; there is a younger brother (Bertrand) and an older sister (Carol).

He is fond of winter and water skiing. The idol of childhood is Marcelo Rios .

Sports career

He started his professional career in 2000, at the same time he reached the finals of the futures single-player tournament for the first time.
