Stanisław Dragan ( Polish: Stanisław Dragan ; November 21, 1941 , Sadkova Góra - April 21, 2007 , Kasinka Mala ) - Polish light heavyweight boxer , played for the Polish national team in the second half of the 1960s and the first half of the 1970s. Bronze medalist of the Summer Olympic Games in Mexico City, participant of many international tournaments and national championships. Also known as a trainer and sports functionary.

Biography
Stanislav Dragan was born on November 21, 1941 in the village of Sadkova Góra , Subcarpathian Voivodeship . He began to actively engage in boxing in early childhood, was trained at the Hutnika Kraków club. He achieved his first serious success in the ring in 1965, when he took second place in the light heavyweight championship in Poland and went to the European Championship in East Berlin, where he managed to reach the quarter-finals (he lost to the German Peter Gerber ). A year later, became the champion of Poland in the light heavyweight category and subsequently repeated this achievement five more times in a row. In 1967 he went to the European Championships in Rome, but was knocked out of the fight for medals already at the qualifying stage by Romanian Ion Monei .
Thanks to a series of successful performances, Dragan won the right to defend the country's honor at the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City , reached the stage of the semifinals, where he met again with Monya and lost to him again - this time the match ended with the score 1: 4. Having received a bronze Olympic medal, he continued to enter the ring for a rather long time as part of the Polish national team, but did not achieve any significant results in the international arena. In total, he spent 220 fights in amateur boxing, of which 194 ended in victory, lost 19 times, in five cases a draw was recorded. For outstanding sports achievements he was awarded the honorary title "Honored Master of Sports".
After completing his sports career in 1973, he took up coaching and raised many talented fighters. In later years, he was an entrepreneur and sports functionary, in particular, he headed the Lesser Boxing Association.
He died on April 21, 2007 in the village of Kaskinka-Mala ( Lesser Poland Voivodeship ) as a result of an accident at agricultural work. He was buried at the Rakovitsky cemetery in Krakow .
