Musical career

At the beginning of her career, Rosonda Thomas worked as a dancer with the R'n'B duo Damian Dame. In 1991, she joined the TLC group, replacing Crystal Jones, and received the nickname Chilli , thanks to which the group was able to retain the name TLC. The group sold more than 65 million copies of albums worldwide [3] and it became the second best-selling group in the world and the first US girl group of all time. During her time at TLC, Rosonda Thomas won four Grammy Awards [4] .

After the death of one of the members of the group Lisa Lopez in April 2002, Rosonda Thomas and Tionne “T Boz” Watkins began to perform a duet from time to time. In 2009, they gave a series of concerts in Asia and plan to release a new album.

At the end of 2011, the music channel VH1 announced plans to release a biographical film about TLC, the producers of which will be Thomas and Watkins [5] . The film was called CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story , and its premiere took place on October 21, 2013 [6] . The role of Rosonda was performed by actress and singer Keke Palmer [7] .

Personal life

At the age of 20, Rosonda Thomas became pregnant by producer , but due to career aspirations and external pressure, she decided to have an abortion. In 2010, on the air of the TV show What Chilli Wants, she said that she regrets the decision [8] . Thomas and Austin continued their relationship, and on June 2, 1997, their son Tron Austin was born. After parting with Austin, Rosonda in 2001 began dating singer Asher . Their relationship continued until January 2004.
