Story
Sixto Rodriguez is an American musician and songwriter of an acute social nature. In the early 1970s, he released a couple of albums, but they were not popular, so he stopped recording and disappeared from sight. Meanwhile, Rodriguez's songs became widely known in South Africa among youth opposed to the apartheid regime. Since the penetration of information from outside at that time was difficult, Rodriguez’s identity was completely mysterious for his South African fans. There were rumors about his death that he either shot himself or burned himself right on stage. In the 1990s, after the fall of the apartheid regime, two Rodriguez fans Stephen Segerman and Craig Bartholomew Stride decided to launch an investigation and find out what kind of man this was and what really happened to him ...
Soundtrack
In 2012, an album was released with tracks from the film. As a result of the success of the documentary tape, the record occupied the top lines in the charts of many countries, which is not typical of soundtracks. The Oscar nomination has added an album of popularity: at the beginning of 2013, he rose to the 3rd place in the Sweden chart and stayed there for 26 weeks - by then winning the coveted statuette; in Denmark, he reached the 18th line; in New Zealand - the 9th.
