Vanunts, Eduard Gaykovich

Eduard Gaykovich Vanunts was born on February 2, 1929 in the city of Rostov-on-Don.

In 1951 he graduated from the Electrotechnical Department of the Leningrad Institute of Cinema Engineers (FACE) . He worked as head of the technical department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Cinematography of the Armenian SSR , sound engineer at the “Armenfilm” film studio. Since 1968 - a full-time sound engineer at the Lenfilm film studio.

He recorded classical music for the All-Union Musical Fund.

The author of a number of articles on sound engineering issues published in the magazines “Cinema and Television Techniques”, “Art of Armenia”, “Literary Armenia”, “Theater” (Armenia).

Honored Artist of the Armenian SSR (1967).
Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (1998).

Member of the Union of Cinematographers of the USSR (Leningrad Branch).

• 1974 - Strange adults - Prize of the Union of Cinematographers of the USSR at the VI WFTF (1975); Grand Prix "Zlata Prague" film at the XII International Film Festival in Prague , Czechoslovakia (1975).
• 1975 - I ask for the words - “Anniversary Prize” of the festival at the 20th IFF in Karlovy Vary , Czechoslovakia (1976); Honorary diploma for the film at the IFF color cinema in Barcelona , Spain (1977).
• 1975 - Foreign letters - Special jury prize for a film at the I IFF in Naples , Italy (1976); "Golden Goddess Nike" prize for the film at the 9th IFF in Thessaloniki , Greece (1980).
• 1980 - Rafferty - Television Film Jury Prize at the IX WFTF (1981).
• 1991 - Black and White - Second Prize at the auteur film festival in Rimini , Italy (1993).
• 1993 - Prize for the best work of a sound engineer, the Glas movie crying at the Golden Eagle International Film Festival in Tbilisi , Georgia (1993).
• 1994 - Elixir - Prize of the Federation of Russian Film Clubs at the II International Film Forum in Suzdal (1995); First Prize at the IFF Short and Documentary Films in Drama , Greece (1995); Grand Prix “Pomegranate Bracelet” for the film at the II Film Festival “Literature and Cinema” in Gatchina (1996); Special prize at the IFF “Window to Europe” in Vyborg (1995); Prize for the best work of a sound engineer at the 1st ORKF (All-Russian Film Festival) animated film in Tarus ) (1996).
