Content
General Information
Located in the northern part of the ethnic range of the Karelian-Livvik , 15 km from the village of Essoila on the western shore of Lake Syamozero .
In the Middle Ages, the village was part of the patrimonial lands of the Novgorod metropolitans , repeatedly ruined during the Russo-Swedish Wars of the 16th — 17th centuries .
The village maintains a monument of architecture - the chapel of the Savior of the Hand-to-hand Image ( XVII century ) [5] , a historical monument - the mass grave of Soviet soldiers who died during the Soviet-Finnish war (1941-1944) .

Interesting Facts
Field surveys of a two-part film “And the Dawns Here are Quiet” , filmed in 1972 according to the story by Boris Vasilyev of the same name directed by Stanislav Rostotsky [8], took place in the village .
