Stanislav Barcikowski ( Polish. Stanislaw Barcikowski ; ca. 1832, Kalisz after 1897) - Polish artist, graphic artist, illustrator .
Biography
After graduating from the Warsaw Real School, and in 1846-1852 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
He worked as a teacher of drawing and calligraphy in Kaliszskoy male gymnasium. Among his pupils were Stanislav Maslovsky (a well-known artist in the future) and A. Parchevsky .
Creativity
The author of a series of drawings of architectural monuments of Kalisz, which were included in the Album of Kalisz (Warsaw, 1858) by lithographer Edward Stavetsky.
In 1862, he donated his work to the Vilnius Museum depicting Stefan Batory , Peter Skarga and Jan Zamoyski , during their visit to the Vilnius Academy .
Participant of exhibitions of the Society for the Promotion of Fine Arts in Warsaw. In 1869 he presented the painting “The Royal Palace of Stanislav August Poniatovsky ”, in 1897 - “ Engagement in the XVI century”.
He made a miniature on the word bones , depicting the last minutes of the life of Hetman Stefan Charnetsky , presented in Warsaw in 1889 at an exhibition of ancient and modern art.
The drawings of the architectural monuments of Kalisz by S. Bartsikovsky were published on the pages of the national weekly magazine Tygodnik Ilustrowany . He created several sacred paintings for the churches of Kalisz.
He has published articles with his own illustrations about Kalisz churches in the magazines Tygodnik Ilustrowany and Kłosy.
